ᕕ(ᐛ)ᕗ Jkfl Redddit Meta Posts
Henlo frens!
Good to see all of you here UwU.
Grab on to your bodypillows, I have a smol announcement about the purpose of this subreddit.
This community is meant as a fun, lighthearted place where we can commiserate with each other about those annoying little irritations that hinder our day to day enjoyment in life.
That means that suitable posts here can be about my children.
And things like a wall socket or tile being placed out of allignment. A crack in a phone screen. Duckling shit on your new car. Incomprehensible software. Mismatched buttons. You know, the little things.
This subreddit isn't meant to incite rage mobs that go after people. For that reason we say:
No reddit meta posts
No posts about being banned from subreddit. No posts about up- or down-votes. No posts about shitty moderators or users or subreddits. No posts about reddit.
All jokes and tomfoolery aside, that sort of thing gets us in trouble with site admins. If we allow one type of post about reddit it then very easily moprhs into allowing posts that directly call out other subreddits or users, we just can't allow any of it.
That rule already existed for years and we have just made it more clearly visible in the sidebar on old and new reddit. We're gonna be a little strict on it for a bit I'm afraid. 🥺
Thank you all for being awesome and have a very Merry Christmas! Celebrate Christmas in the traditional European way, with a suasage roll!

New Post flairs available!!
Henlo every body!
In our never ending quest for increased customer statisftaction we have listened to all of your demands and clamouring and we have _finally_ installed a few new, fun post flairs for yuo to use at your leisure when posting to this subreddit!!
For too long you had a drought of good posting flair options so now you can choose from interesting and poignant flair options such as "wet socks" and of course the pereniall favorite "that's not milk". These are but a few of the new options available.
You can choose any of these or none at all when posting whatever you want, it's not like I care your not even my real dad.

We hope you all have a lot of fun posting here nd please remember to at all times give us a five star review on any mod survey feedback form.

Don't hug me I'm scared This “Modern-Depression” Color Scheming
This was how my childhood elementary school playground was recently remodeled (sorry for shitty pic quality, I pulled from Google Maps).
I joked to my Dad they must‘ve been going for a “Modern Depression” theme.
What is up with this trend of sucking all the color out of everything?
Homes, cars, even clothing, the modern trends seem to all be in shades of black/white BORING lifeless colors 😭
Not to mention TV shows and movies often looking so much colder for whatever reason.

My mom said I could post As an employee, hearing the unadulterated opinions of old wealthy people at a country club is so much more soul-sucking than I could’ve imagined.
I’ve been working 45-50 hours a week as a bartender/manager at a country club for the past couple years, it’s good money and contributing to my future, but man it is surprisingly difficult listening to the wild shit that constantly emanates from the mouths of these rich, old, white men.
Everything in this paragraph I’ve heard this week: I overheard a member calling my manager a whore because she was wearing an outfit that showed one shoulder and her bra strap. Another member was watching a women’s golf tournament and made a comment about it being a “bad wet t-shirt contest.” The N-word once. Another rehashing of the Michael Brown case that happened what, a decade ago? Very sarcastic and degrading comments about the “genocide” in Gaza. Comments about how certain foreign born US citizens who hold various political offices should be deported. Really condescending comments toward trans people. And a comment by a member about how they were confused as to how this black, bald woman could’ve possibly landed a job on TV as a news anchor. Oh, and comments about how my generation (I’m 25) are all lazy and don’t know how to work all coming from the mouths of 65+ year olds. All this week.
I’m not trying to turn this into a political rant and argument in the comments. I’m also not trying to come off as this stereotypical Redditor who can’t handle an opinion that isn’t left-wing or who gets offended by everything, but my goodness working this job feels like I’m watching Fox News on site. Meeting people who legitimately hold opinions that I thought were left-wing caricatures and exaggerations of real people has been surreal, and I’m looking forward to moving on with my life.

No Coke. Is Pepsi ok? The new Cola Zero design...
Which bellend thought it was a good idea to make the colours on Zero the same as regular Coke?!? Had to do a double take to make sure I got the right one...

Not something I'd buy art wise, but I saw it as I was walking out, it's the principle.

I'm slightly vexed The craziness of required supplies for middle school from a teacher’s perspective
I am a middle school teacher in Florida and I have a very simple supply list. I require a spiral notebook, pens, pencils, colored pencils, and notecards (no specific style or size just as long as you have them). Before schedule pick up, we are required to post the supply list on our doors so students and their parents can walk around and take pictures. I was walking around and I realize some of my colleagues are requiring crazy weird, obscure and expensive supplies. We work at a public school in a not so great area so I feel this is ridiculous. Some of them are asking for binders with all these dividers and crazy amounts of composition books or certain specific notebooks. If you’re a teacher out there make the supply list simple. Everyone’s hurting for money, especially those going to public school.

I'm slightly vexed I’m just a girl is weaponized incompetence.
I’ve worked in corrections and currently hospital security. These jobs obviously require one to be fully alert at all times. When I would work corrections the medical staff would give out meds and we would escort them around the run while they have the meds. I would hate when the medical staff would rile up an inmate and I would have to step in and close the trap not a problem it’s part of the job but what always got under my skin was then they would have a big smile while the inmate was still looking out his window and say “I’m just a girl” no I think you’re just a bitch.
Now working in a hospital setting I deal with the public. As security we help restrain patients that are aggressive or want to cause harm to the nurses. I’ve had several instances where the medical staff would be getting too close to a patient and we would tell them to step back you don’t have to be so close and they don’t listen. They just say “oh they’re fine, he’s just a little upset” when the patient is clearly clenching their fist. Anyway, there has been several times a nurse would get swung on, and they wouldn’t get his but when the call is done we tell them hey please listen to us because we noticed these aggressive indicators. And they would just say “I’m just a girl”. The hospital i work for has self defense classes for medical staff 2 times a year and aggressive behavior is part of the self defense curriculum. I just hate the phrase “im just a girl” and I’ve been ranting too long probably

Infuriatig My roommate’s friend dropped my laptop off the desk and destroyed the screen,”It’s just a laptop”
I am a university student and money has been tight for as long as I can remember. I saved every single spare bit of money I could just to buy a decent laptop and it was literally the core tool I needed to get through my degree and handle my thesis work.
Yesterday my roommate had a few friends over while I was in the library. When I got back to our apartment I found my laptop sitting closed on my desk but the hinge looked slightly misaligned.
I opened it up and my heart completely dropped.
The inner display panel is shattered, bleeding black ink and multi colored vertical lines across the entire glass. It’s completely unusable.
When I confronted my roommate his friend casually spoke up and said, "Oh yeah, my backpack strap caught the corner while I was walking past your desk and it dragged it off"
When I told him how much it was going to cost to repair or that he needed to cover the damage since I literally cannot afford a replacement looked at me like I was being dramatic and said ,”Dude, relax, it was an accident. It’s just a laptop, don't get so worked up over it. I don't have that kind of money anyway."
My roommate then pulled me aside and told me I was making things awkward for everyone by bringing up money.
I worked so hard for months to afford the one tool I needed, only for someone to carelessly destroy it in two seconds and act like I am the bad guy for caring. I am sitting on my floor staring at a shattered screen, trying not to throw up.

Infuriatig These Stupid Ass Buttons On TV Remotes. The Intrusive Thoughts Won.
Seriously, the absolute most annoying shit when I'm watching something and I reach for the remote and barely bump the buttons and it yeets me out of what I was watching, to whatever bullshit streaming company paid the most for a button spot on the remote, the remote that came with a TV I paid good money for. Meanwhile on some apps completely loosing my progress on a movie or forced to watch more Ads again to continue watching again. I've threatened to do this before and my wife insisted not to, she's out of town this week, any recommendations for marriage counselors and anger management programs?

That's not milk This guy cut me off in the drive thru and proceeded to order 8 glasses of water.
So the guy was in front of me when I pulled in parking lot, but was stalled.
I began to pass him and almost got in front of him where we make eye contact. I had to look to see who it was.
He was an older guy with 3 kids in the back.
He then speeds up to cut me off from getting in front of him, so I got back behind him.
He took like 10 minutes to order and then once I saw what he order the girl just kept handing him clear cups of water.
After she handed him what I counted 8, he proceeded to stay into he drive thru lane for another 2-3 minutes.
Once I got to the window I was gone within 10 seconds.
It didn't affect me that much just annoyed since my 5 minute trip took almost 20.

I'm slightly vexed SSD prices have tripled in 3 years
In March 2023 I bought this SSD for $90, and it currently retails for $275! I understand a mix of inflation and the rise of data centers increasing the price, but 3 times as expensive is ludicrous.

Don't hug me I'm scared On holiday at Greece and now I’ve got major heatstroke and food poisoning.
Spent over £5000 for like a week at this expensive and luxury hotel here for a week, and the food is amazing, the views are so pretty. I’m on day 3, and I’ve gotten serious heat stroke due to my family forcing me in the sun as usual despite them knowing I can’t be in it too long because I burn like a vampire, and the ‘5 star food’ has given me serious food poisoning and now I’m vomiting everywhere. So fun!

Infuriatig I Want This Jerk Towed
Picking up a scrip at my local pharmacy. The giant SUV is more than a foot over the line. No placard, I was careful to check. On the other side is a car with a placard using the striped area, so my only option was to slip in where I am, in the actual disabled spot. With my actual disability.
99% of people are nice. What is wrong with this one?
