Discussion Years later, I still don't get why Eternals got so much hate.
I was just thinking about Phase 4 and remembered how much everyone trashed Eternals when it dropped. I watched it years ago and actually liked it.
Sure, it was a bit long, but the characters and world-building were cool.
Now that the hype and drama have died down, why do you think people turned on it so hard? Was it just bad timing, or do you think the criticisms actually hold up?

'Spider-Man BND*' Spoilers Small but important moment from BND (Spoilers) Spoiler
This particular scene stuck with me: When Peter tells MJ about kissing her while she was under Jean’s control.
Good on them for putting that scene/exchange in. Peter knew it was better to put the truth out there, even if he himself didn’t understand what was happening in the moment. Even as he was likely hurting from hearing MJ didn’t regain any memory of him from his letter, he was mature enough to know she deserved to hear about what happened rather than keep it concealed, mind-control or not.
Even better, neither the characters nor the plot made a big deal out of it. They acknowledged what happened and moved on. I think that’s a valuable lesson in accountability for all audiences to witness.

Question For those who have watched MCU movies in theaters since the beginning, has any movie besides Avengers: Endgame ever brought out such crazy reactions from the audience in the theater?
I remember watching the fdfs of Endgame and the live theatre reactions were one of a kind. The audience almost screamed at every big reveal. Watched BND fdfs too and the only time the audience gave some reaction was during that final Ned part. Did any other movie before Endgame do that?

Discussion (More in Comments) The most under-rated detail about MCU spidey
This GIF is not a reaction. Its a demonstration. The adjustable white-out eyes is literally everything to me. It seems like such a small insignificant detail but it adds a layer of expression under the mask that weve previously only really seen in animation that I think is so good for the MCU and CBMs as a whole
Dont get me wrong Deadpools eyes is cool too but especially for spidey who has such massive eye goggles it works so incredibly well and I always wanted it but never knew how much I needed it til Tom took the mantle.
And like I said. Not just the MCU. Of all the things DC tries to copy I hope to god they steal this too. Im tired of seeing batmans eyes it was never like that in the animation. Flash too.
It might seem crazy to say but this small detail i feel like is why Marvel is crushing DC. They arent afraid to mythologize their heroes. DC doesnt let you forget even for a moment that its just a regular guy with a mask on. It disrupts the suspension of disbelief.
Anyway im not trying to get too off track with this its not about DC. Its tipping the hat to Marvel for getting so much out of one little detail. Let the trend continue

Spoilers! Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the gold standard for super hero support casts Spoiler
Punisher and Hulk weren't in this movie for a quick cameo to plug the next movie or have a quick funny scene. They both reflected struggles Peter was going through during the movie.
Banner/Hulk were there to show the dangers of the unbalance and desire to subdue part of himself.
Punisher was there to warn Peter not to let Spider-Man consume his life. He tells Peter not to ignore his friends, and not be a prisoner to Spider-Man.
I don't think we have seen this type of supporting character quality in the MCU yet. It felt like the characters and writing were ripped from the comics.

Discussion I just love how all the recent big Marvel projects put New York in front and center Spoiler
galleryI'm so glad to see Marvel returning to treat New York as a character in recent movies and shows (except probably for Brave New World and Wonder Man but are still many). I felt like after Endgame Marvel movies started to shift too much away from the "world outside of your window" side of the Marvel universe, most movies either were set outside of New York or moved the action to space or the multiverse etc. We got a few movies or shows set there like Hawkeye or No Way Home but even there NYC felt less a character and more of a setting.
However a pattern i've been noticing is that in both 2025 and 2026 projects that Marvel released they seem to have finally understand why New York is so vital for Marvel as a whole. Especially BND seem to have understood that New York IS THE CENTER OF MARVEL. All the heroes live there and sometimes bump into each other. Projects like Thunderbolts* and Fantastic Four finally understands how having your fight set in a city helps at building stakes for the third act, while Daredevil Born Again also did use New York and use it to build themes of corruption and to make an analogy to real world politics, which is probably the most Marvel thing ever.
I'm so glad to see many projects returning to the more grounded New York setting and hope to see this trend continue.

Theory Theory: This Is Loki, Not Cap
I believe this to be Loki. First of all, Thor knows about the multiverse so this shouldn't be a surprise, a cap variant. The reason he says it's not possible is because Thor as far as he knew saw Loki die and here, he is right in front of him. Thor can spot Loki thru his illusions pretty easily as they grew up together and knows him very well.
Second Cap is not one to show off, faking not being able to lift the hammer at stark tower in Ultron. Taking the hammer from Thors hand and looking at him with a shit eating grin is not something he would do but is something Loki does in half his scenes. As far as being suddenly worthy of the hammer, saving the multiverse selflessly in his Show would easily make him worthy. Why he chose to hide himself as Cap, well he probably saw the multiverse start collapsing in on itself cause of Dooms Shenanigans and has come to help but knows everyone sees him as a villain so he figured he would better be received as a cap variant.
Also, why would in the Thor voice over in this part of the trailer call a random cap variant a miracle. What is he gonna do punch doom. No way the miracle is an all powerful Loki coming in with something that will even the odds. Jk this is obviously Johnney Storm.

Discussion What do you NEED to happen in Doomsday?
My answer: I need Loki to pick up Mjolnir, get a new armor / suit that's a combination of his original one and Thor's original armor and rush into an epic 2 v 1 with Thor against Doom
