Been fighting baldness for well over a decade with minoxidil, fancy serums, microneedling, finasteride (sent me into a horrible depression), fancy shampoos and conditioners, hair fibres etc. Was trimming my beard looking in the mirror, thought "fuck it" and shaved my head! Instantly liked it.

Go for it lads! I feel free not having to care if people see my scalp when I look down!

My hair has been a big insecurity of mine for a while now. I was terrified of the wind and always checking to make sure my forehead/hairline was properly covered by my bangs. I've been thinking about pulling the trigger for like a year or so. My hairline was cooked and the hair on top of my head was very thin.

The first pic is like the best pic I have of me with hair. It was/is my favorite selfie of me, lol.

EDIT: Thanks everyone for the kind comments. I'll be looking into new frames when I can. I think I'll stick with the bald for a bit. It feels more free than my hair.

Also, I thank this community for the confidence boost I needed to take the leap of faith.

I was just tired to worry all the time about taking meds and trying different methods for hair restoration and having my life sort of attached to being able to sustain the hair.
I started travelling around the world in January, and one of the things that was constantly dragging me was to find the treatment on the countries I was visiting, or being able to use the min available there, etc. so I stopped using all of that and undoubtedly hair started to fall again.
I tried to cover up for some months but in the end I decided to make the jump and embrace it.
Not gonna lie. I don't like it, nor I dislike it, but I guess is part of the acceptance process.
To me, it looks worse when you hide your patches and you're covering them either.
So yea, hope this encourages more men to do it.

It took me a while to the shaved head. It started during the pandemic, when the world shut down and I just started using clippers with a zero guard. Then I tried different hair clippers. Finally I just realized that for me personally it’s so much easier better and cleaner and feels so much better to just use gel and a razor. Been doing that for over a year. I really love this bald community… thank you 🙏🙏🙏

I think I pulled off hair still only while the stars aligned. As soon as the wind blew or I started sweating I looked ridiculous. I’ve been insecure about my receding hairline since I was 15, I said if I make it to 21 with hair I’ll be happy. Well I’m 25 now and with all the insecurity surrounding my hairline I decided I was just going to shave it and tattoo my head.

I love it. I have my appointment on Monday to start tattooing it. I think it looks cool and the mock up makes it look even cooler.

Here’s the kicker. My heads been shaved for 3 days and I’ve been told I am a “Proud boy predator” (they added the predator part because my girlfriend is very petite and I am 6’4). Said I look like an Aryan Brother. I look like a Skin Head. And also that I look like I just got out of prison.

I know it’s not because I’m bald but more of the fact I’m bald and have tattoos and light features so I get it but like I can’t control the fact I’m balding.

How should I navigate this?

While I could still get away with a shorter haircut to a certain extent, the time was fast approaching. The nail in the coffin was being able to see that my crown was starting to thin out on the Walmart security screen. Although there is still the fear I should have just started cutting it short again, the timing was right (just about to start a new job and the transition was appropriate). Honestly, I'm very happy with the way this turned out!

I live in a hot climate and the cooling effect alone has been worth it.

Some advice for people considering it:
Give yourself time to adjust to seeing yourself bald. Especially if your scalp needs time to tan and color match the rest of your face.

A razor will give you a nice smooth feel but a skull shaver (I got one with 7 heads) gets close and saves a ton of time.

Literally just had it done 30mins ago so still fresh. Not 100% sure if I like it or not at the moment but I’m sure it will grow on me. This seemed like the best angle

I posted about a week ago and got some very helpful feedback. I said fuck it, bought a foil razor and went to town. Feels pretty liberating tbh. Thanks to the community!

Buzzed with no guard clippers. I think it's an improvement?

I know it’s time, but I’m just not ready, even though I already pulled the plug.

I just wanted to share this with my fellow bald brothers.
